Meet Raymond

Welcome Raymond to our regular schedule! He will be teaching Mondays’ Yoga Flo 1 from 6:00-7:15pm for the rest of the year.

We asked him three questions so you can get to know him a little better. Read his answers below and check out his class sometime!

Q: What's your favourite song?

A: My favourite song changes with time but Beach in Hawaii by Ziggy Marley has a special place in my heart because it brings back so many memories of my honeymoon in Hawaii and the amazing time my wife and I spent there together. Hawaii is all about peace and love and you feel that vibe from the island itself, the locals and their music.

Q: What's your favourite & least favourite yoga pose and why?

A: My least favourite yoga pose is Supta Virasana / Reclined Hero Pose.

My knees just can't handle it! I actually hurt myself when I was a yoga beginner. I tried to go deeper than I should have hurt my already fragile knee. So I'm very careful now!

My favourite yoga pose is Natarajasana, Dancer pose. It's difficult but accessible. It requires strength, flexibility and balance... everything! It's a fun pose that quiets my mind makes me feel great everytime.

Q: What's one of your guilty pleasures?

A: If it's sweet, chocolate, cookie, candy, whatever, I'm eating it. No matter the time, the place or if I just had a meal: if it's sweet, it's going in my belly!

In 2015, Raymond started practicing yoga out of curiosity. He quickly realized the physical and mental benefits of this practice. Curiosity turned into a passion as yoga and meditation transformed the way he approaches every day with more patience, love and compassion.  To deepen his practice, he completed a 250 hour teacher training at Luna Yoga in 2018 followed by a Yoga Nidra training in 2020. He now wants to share his personal experience and knowledge of yoga to promote a healthier and happier lifestyle for all.
