Vegan Nutrition with Andrea Rubin
Monday April 30th, 7:30-8:30pm

Have you been contemplating or are you following a vegan diet and want to make sure that your nutrient needs are covered? It can be tricky and confusing to navigate the world of plant-based foods. Join me for a plant-based workshop: Veganism - Tips, Tricks and Essential Tools for a Healthy Diet. Conquer your fears and uncertainties, and in doing so build your confidence in exploring a new way of eating, be it for one meal, a week or your entire menu. This workshop is an opportunity to share your questions and concerns with other like-minded people.

Some topics covered:
- What is a vegan? What are the benefits of plant based diet?
- Major nutrition concerns throughout the lifecycle
- A guide to vegan/vegetarian protein sources
- Nutrients to highlight: iron, zinc, vitamin B12, vitamin D, calcium and omega-3 fat
- Vegan cooking/baking substitutions

PDF resources will be offered

$25 + tax ($20 + tax by April 23rd)

100% of the proceeds will go to the Annamrita Project, an organization which provides healthy meals at school for underprivileged children in India.
