Restorative Yoga with Ashley Koons

Join us for an afternoon of deep relaxation and a Restorative Yoga practice that is sure to leave you feeling recharged and re-energized!
Restorative Yoga is a slow, gentle and introspective style of yoga that emphasizes grounded postures held for longer periods of time. In each pose the body is supported by the use of bolsters, blocks, and blankets so the yogi can focus on simply being. Our intention is stress-reduction, finding stillness and cultivating a sense of calm in a safe and welcoming space.
When we shift our focus away from the constant stimuli and hectic demands of the external world towards our own internal stillness, we create conditions for healing and release. This workshop is for people of all ages and fitness levels, including those who have injuries or suffer from chronic illness.
Ashley is a yogi, dog mom, queer feminist, travel enthusiast, and wizard book lover. She first came to yoga in her early 20s while searching for a way to deal with stress and the uncertainty of life after graduating university. Ashley believes enthusiastically in the power of yoga to transform one’s life and how one views the world. Yoga means many things to many people, and to Ashley it has become the foundation on which her mental health and physical well being rest.
$5 per yogi who attends this class will go to Lesbians Who Tech.

After a visual effects career that spanned 13 years, 5 cities, 3 countries, 14 films and 1 TV show, Ashley decided to follow her heart and become a full time yoga teacher. She is a graduate of Luna Yoga’s 250-hour Teacher Training Program and would like to extend her heartfelt gratitude for all her teachers and mentors there. She also completed 60 hours of Restorative Yoga Teacher Training and enjoys practicing both active and gentle styles of yoga.
